This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit…
In the nearly 22 years of The Freak Nation we’ve been all over the map with our technology. There were times when we had to endure one station and one mic between the group of us.
But this week we could bask in the glow of modern technology. Kenny and Crash were in Phoenix, Arizona. I was in Columbus, Ohio. And we had a super fun video conversation with Petter Solberg and his son Oliver right after they’d checked into their hotel in Sweden.
It was wild to catch up with Petter who’s been in The Freak Nation before.
And Oliver, who’s competed in American rallies just a couple years ago. He said the best things he learned competing in America was media and marketing.
Oliver also talked about his growing friendships with American drivers like Ken Block and Travis Pastrana, Jimmie Johnson from NASCAR and Colton Herta from IndyCar.
Could Oliver wind up racing in the U.S.? Maybe. If you looked at the patches on his driver’s suit, he’s not far away from that.
The conversation is coming soon. As they say: Stay Tuned.
Peace.
