I uncovered something in the Freaks Audio files this weekend.

First, here’s Sport Compact pioneer Steph Papadakis reacting last summer when we asked if anyone was talking to him about making a switch to POWERade Pro Stock.

"If Warren wants to retire, you know, if they happen to have that seat and it needs to be filled by someone, you know, maybe a little younger and maybe with the youth automotive scene, I’d love to go over there and race with the old guys."

That was last summer. 

Now, let’s fast forward to a couple weeks ago when we asked that same Warren Johnson if he’d consider a Sport Compact pioneer like Steph to replace him after he retires.

"Oh yeah, I’m open as far as drivers.  In fact I talked to Steph at the SEMA show.   I have no qualms about bringing a driver in from another series."

Now!  There’s a rumor for the off-season parties.
