This is the Statt Mann Baby!! Time to Scatt a little bit.
Earlier this year I guessed McLaren F1 rookie driver Lewis Hamilton would win this year.
But four wins, including this weekend’s Grand Prix in Japan, and having a clear shot at the World Driver’s Championship is a shock to me and apparently to Lewis himself.
“Lots of thoughts going through my mind,” Hamilton told F1 analyst Peter Windsor after the race in Japan. “Driving in the wet, leading and driving the last lap thinking about some of the races that Senna was in – and Prost – and it sort of makes me feel that I’m on the way to achieving something special similar to them.”
This is a special year. And Lewis can be excused for daydreaming in the rain, especially with a 12 point lead with two races left in the championship.
But as much as I love what’s happening, let’s make sure Hamilton gets to the end of this dream and a happy ending is waiting for him there along side his heroes Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
Good Luck Lewis.
Peace.
