NHRA Top Fuel Driver Leah Pruett told the Freaks eleven months ago she was fighting to change NHRA rules concerning female drivers starting a family. Pruett and a coalition of women NHRA racers fought for an amendment to NHRA rules. Pruett was a career-best third in 2023 but opted to start a family with husband Tony Stewart. They’re expecting their first child in November. Her fight to change the rules means drivers who step out of the car mid-season can keep points another wins in that car.
