This is the Statt Mann Baby. It's time to Scatt a little bit.

While the world watched the NASCAR Championship finale at Homestead Sunday, there was a lot of Internet buzz about who’d replace Travis Pastrana at Subaru Rally Team USA.

Travis left a couple weeks ago to do a number of things including NASCAR Nationwide racing.  His seat at Subaru is considered the most coveted in the American tuner universe.

A number of names are out there but the ones with the noisiest buzz are both Brits with American rally experience.  They’re both able to win outright which makes it clear that whoever gets the seat Subaru is interested in getting back the championship it lost to a Canadian in a Mitsubishi last season.

Still it’s good that Subaru apparently wants to replace Travis. It could be argued that economic times might leave the seat empty with Dave Mirra returning as the Lone Ranger at Subaru Rally Team USA when the season starts at Sno*Drift in January.

And even better, there’s a strong possibility Subaru might even add a third car to the effort meaning a fifty percent increase in budget instead of a cutback.

It’s all unclear for the time being but it appears rallying in America is still a good investment for the right sponsor.  And, for me, that’s a real good thing.

Peace.
