This is the Statt Mann Baby. It's time to Scat a little bit.
I’m not surprised at Kyle Busch’s meltdown in Texas. He’s been melting down all year.
He’s has physical confrontations with fellow driver Kevin Harvick and team owner Richard Childress. He made an obscene gesture to a NASCAR official that was on live television. And he was ticketed for driving 128 mph in a 45-mph zone away from the track.
That’s a major problem every six weeks. The surprise is why he wasn’t given a greater penalty than a couple races. There’s six more weeks left in the year. That’s time for another ugly incident.
Thankfully someone is thinking clearly. Kyle Busch’s main sponsor, M&Ms, has hinted at its own penalty.
On its Facebook page, the company said: “The recent actions by Kyle Busch are not consistent with the values of M&M'S and we're very disappointed. Like you, we hold those who represent our brand to a higher standard and we have expressed our concerns directly to Joe Gibbs Racing.”
It’s the end of the year. Busch should have been suspended for the rest of the season. He should have been forced to face the media and answer every question. And Busch, not Joe Gibbs, should cover the losses for Ron Hornaday’s truck that Busch ruined. If it was possible he should be made to cover the losses for the championship he stole from Hornaday.
Hiding behind a written statement on a website is a cheap shot worthy of a Kyle Busch. About that, I’m not surprised either.
Peace.
