This is the Statt Mann Baby. It's time to Scatt a little bit.
I was in the car for three hours late Saturday night listening to ESPN News on Sirius. And after a third time of listening to the recorded half hour I noticed that there was nothing on the Sebring 12 hour race anywhere. There wasn’t even a sentence that said: “Audi won the 60th Anniversary of the Sebring 12 Hour endurance race in Florida.”
Six seconds was all it would have taken. Six seconds in a 30 minute news show. Disappointing.
There were sixty cars from all over the world. More than 100,000 screaming fans from all over the world. Manufacturers from all over the world. And none of it was worth six seconds? Danica received about 20 seconds for finishing two laps down. But 100,000 passionate fans didn’t deserve six seconds?
An hour’s worth of ESPN Radio and SportsCenter news breaks didn’t produce six seconds either.
I shouldn’t be surprised I guess. I’m a sports car fan but when more than 100,000 people and an international format produces nothing in more than three hours of so-called news there’s a problem.
Or some news producer somewhere needs a reprimand or a new assignment.
Peace.
