This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit…
Last Sunday we talked a bit about Erica Enders-Stevens the only woman to ever win a Pro Stock race in the National Hot Rod Association.
She qualified for the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship playoffs this year but was sitting on the sidelines for six of eight events because her team couldn’t find sponsorship. Still, she qualified for the championship run but was faced with running minor league drag racing events because no one was stepping up to support her for a run in the NHRA.
Well she got the money from Husky Liners and is more than in the Countdown. She went a couple rounds at the first event in the playoffs in Charlotte and moved up from eighth to seven in the standings.
She backed that up this weekend in Texas by qualifying fastest in Pro Stock and, as this is written, won a round on Sunday.
All of this is for a driver with strong social media skills, a strong fan base and the strong ability to win races.
Not sure what else a sponsor would want from Erica Enders-Stevens who was faced with sitting out the championship playoffs for lack of sponsor support.
There’s something wrong when strong isn’t good enough.
Peace.
