This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit.
I’m not much of a film critic. But I know what I like and I like Godspeed: The Story of Page Jones.
It chronicles the story of Parnelli Jones’ youngest son Page from a near fatal accident at Eldora Speedway 21 years ago until now. Page continues fighting back from the brain injury that changed his life forever.
The film, in fact, shows how Pages’ injuries reordered the priorities in the entire Jones Family. It’s been a 21 year therapy journey that he continues to respond to.
Page is now married with two children. He was at the film premier Friday hugging long-time friends and posing for pictures with fans.
The film says 2.4 million Americans suffer from some form of traumatic brain injury every year. But not all have the insurance or family resources to fight back for twenty years.
That’s the point of the film in a way; bringing some attention to the arduous battle to re-knit the brain’s tissue and bring a quality of life to millions who deserve it.
Godspeed: The Story of Page Jones. See it if you can and be inspired like I was.
Peace.
