McLaren Leaving F1? Hard to Imagine

In the mid-16th Century the French decided to change from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar.

That moved the start of the year from April 1st to January 1st. Those who continued to celebrate the start of the year on April 1st became known as April Fools, thus, April Fools Day.

Some foolishness came into the Formula One world this week when McLaren CEO Zak Brown threatened to pull the historic team from the historic series. The American wants new rules that would make McLaren more competitive financially and on the track.

However, McLaren’s core businesses, engineering and technology, are built on its presence and success in F1. Billions in global contracts could be at stake.

Guess who would be “The Fool” if Zak Brown is in charge should McLaren run aground and spill its guts all over the F1 shores.

Hard to imagine.
