NHRA is BACK!

How wonderful it was Sunday to get caught up in major league drag racing.

The NHRA season finally opened at Gainesville and the Gator Nationals. Normally we’ve seen Pomona and Phoenix by now but this isn’t normal yet, is it.

We’re seeing new names in NASCAR but drag racing requires so much more experience and resources.

And speaking of experience, 16-time Funny Car champion John Force is back after taking the year off last year. John qualified fifth.
Teammate Robert Hight, himself a two-time champion, qualified fourth.

After a year off. WOW!!

A real eye opener this year: Troy Coughlin, Jr. in Pro Stock. He’s run Pro Mod and Top Fuel. His uncle, Jeg Junior, is a five-time Pro Stock champion. Troy qualified seventh this weekend.

Four-time champion Erica Enders battled with Greg Anderson for the top of Pro Stock qualifying with Greg getting the final flag.
Brings a smile just talking about it, doesn’t it?
