This is the Stattmann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

NASCAR’s entry into the contemporary culture is well documented.  Many Americans bow at its altar and drink its Kool-Aid every Sunday.

But to hear wrestling star Hulk Hogan talk about DRIFTING on a NASCAR pre-race TV show this morning threw me for a loop.

“My son Nick has been driving the Viper for Dodge in the drift series trying to qualify for Formula D.  He’s been doing the drifting with Sam Hubinette with Dodge.  They’re actually going to Irwindale on Wednesday to do some tandem racing.

“So, we’re big time into the racing.”

Drifting didn’t exist in America five years ago.  Now cultural icons mention it in casual conversation.  What a ride!!

Pimp my Ride is part of the culture.  Hearing Hulk Hogan pimp drifting is a good thing.  But, I continually hope money grabbers and thieves don’t Pimp my Sport into extinction behind a big, greenback curtain.
