This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit…
We learned this weekend that the Haas F1 team has dropped its Russian driver and the Russian title sponsor he was connected to.
This is part of the global economic counterattack launched against Russia and its war mongering leader Vladimir Putin who invaded Ukraine February 24th.
Haas dropping Nikita Mazepin means little competitively.
He was a terrible driver who brought nothing but back marker status to the team.
Title sponsor Uralkali is a Russian fertilizer company run by Mazepin’s father, a Russian billionaire tied to Putin.
Trouble is, Haas F1 was praised as an American team when it was formed in 2016.
Now the team is splitting from its Russian identity.
It’s Italian Team Principal says it will announce its driver lineup soon.
Brazilian, Italian and Australian drivers are on the short list.
Hear something here?
Apparently, there’s no American influence in the American F1 team outside of the man standing behind the checks.
Peace.
