This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit.

We now have answers to all those questions about the first three races in the NASCAR Playoffs. Thousands, including The Freaks, argued that the races were too tough for a championship opener. That potential champions would be eliminated too quickly in the playoffs.

What we didn’t consider was how the races at Atlanta, Watkins Glen and Bristol were perfect to decide a 2024 NASCAR Cup champion.

Atlanta was a superfast oval. The Glen was the technical challenge a champion needed to answer. And Bristol Saturday night was a superfast bullring and a different kind of challenge a champion should overcome. All identities for NASCAR in 2024.

Shaken out after Bristol were past champions having an inconsistent season. And inconsistent newcomers who aren’t ready to ascend a champion’s stage.

Now we have 12 reaching for a champion’s perfection in the next three rounds. That includes the boredom at Kansas, the random speed at Talladega, and a technical roval in Charlotte.

NASCAR is embracing race craft diversity for its 2024 championship.

And I that’s a good thing.

Peace.
