This is the Stattmann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit!!
With all the insufferable nonsense over Dale Jr.’s slip of the tongue at Talladega, it was enormously refreshing to have Sunday's attention in Kansas directed at one of the nicest guys in all of racing, Joe Nemechek.
Front Row Joe doubled up in Kansas this weekend winning both the Busch and Cup races, his first Cup win in 54 tries and it was done from the pole. When he got to Victory Lane there wasn’t a worry about the wrong bottles, the wrong language, or the wrong attitude.
Somehow I wasn't worried that Nemechek would get out of the car with some world wrestling, in your face phoniness. I got the feeling he was happy to be there, he respected the opportunity and expected to be there again so he didn't want to be obnoxious and threaten another invitation.
His wife was there. So were his kids. Nemechek thanked the U.S. Army for letting him race with the military on the side of his car as a sponsor. He even wished his Mom and Dad were there so they could all enjoy the moment. The appearance reeked of class worthy of the U.S. military.
In this case the "S" word was SOLID.
It was a SOLID win for a SOLID, dominating team! And thanks for bringing something else SOLID to today’s show, Joe; a SOLID Family life.
There!! Some more "S" words for you!
Peace!!
