We get letters and opinions and, boy, do some of those views differ from ours! So, the views of the authors are their own and do not reflect those of the SpeedFreaks or its affiliates. In fact, Kenny doesn’t like any viewpoint that doesn't support our sponsors!
Well, after reading my weekly "That's Racing" Newsletter, I have come to the conclusion that NASCAR has lost it's mind, And may need to be held over for a 72 hour Psychological evaluation.
Starting next year, NASCAR will control the gear ratio, and Will take even more action to slow the cars down. Between that and the new Non areo cars they are formulating, NASCAR is becoming like just another drive on Houston's freeways. Because if you take the speed, you take our sport. And the way it's looking, you will find more speed and excitement on the Houston Freeway sysytem.
It is extremely sad when we lose drivers, And Dale Earnhardt's death hit all of us hard. But the safety features that have come out of it, have been Fanstastic. So why do we need slower cars? If you take all the risk out of this sport, what are we the motorheads going to watch on Sunday afternoons? If I wanted to see slow cars, I'd go sit around a church afterwards, to watch ol' folks leave. This Is NASCAR, Speed is the name of the game, HELLO? NASCAR are you listening, Do you hate the Fans that much? That you are doing everything to chase us away? Because as you know there are other motorsports out there. I love NASCAR, and I grew up watching "Winston Cup", I will never forget 1979, And Richard Petty's Daytona victory, And the fight in the infield.
Now those were the days. But!! I have stood by and watched this year, As this sport has become a complete stranger. Has NASCAR forgotten who helps to pay the bills?? THE FANS!!!
And we want to be heard!! Leave our sport alone!! And leave it here, in the good ol' USA!
Thank you,
