First of all, they should honor their contracts if it is forbidden.

We do not have a Cup event here in the Northwest yet, so when Kasey Kahne decided to come home and race his 360 Sprint car at a hometown track it was quite a spectacle. All the local media, as well as NBC, were here to cover it.

The neat thing is that it gave his ever increasing fan base a chance to see him in person and get autographs. In addition, it was a boost to the local economy. The track doubled the normal attendance for this event. The haul wasn't too bad for Kasey either. He certainly had a captive audience which to sell souvenirs.
Overall, I think it was a good thing since he didn't get hurt.
