In 1986, at the end of a highly dramatic season on the nighttime soap opera Dallas, Bobby Ewing was seen in a shower revealing to the audience the entire season was a dream.

Well, Formula One fans, welcome to what can happen when a media company takes over what used to be the highest level of competition in motor sports.

You would think the entire 2021 Formula One season was turned into a dream and the end was turned into episodic drama designed to make you come back next year to see what happens next.

In reality, a full season of competition came down to one lap of officials mucking up an entire year long championship. Sadly, this isn’t a dream, though.

Formula One Race Director Michael Masi smugly told a protesting Mercedes boss Toto Wolfe: “It’s a motor race, Toto!” In other words: “Get over it!”

It’s not a motor race when the rules change seconds before racing resumes.

They gave Red Bull a chance to steal a title. And Red Bull took it. Happily. Even the anchors at ESPN could see through the shower steam and said: “Lewis you got screwed.”
