Veteran motorsports writer Pete Lyons goes back a long way in his business. So we asked him to remember a man he knew well, Carroll Shelby, who died last week leaving his own legend for us to remember him. Lyons  told us about Shelby's early days as well as his last projects before his death. He also put Shelby into perspective with his contemporaries in  the automotive field, if, indeed, Carroll Shelby could have contemporaries. He was truly one of a kind.
