This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

Remember the one hundred million dollar fine slammed on McLaren last summer over the big snafu with Ferrari?

Well, something good might come from all that money, all that hassle and all that stupidity.

The World Motor Sport Council at the FIA has created a committee to distribute that fortune over the next five years through a Motor Sport Safety Development Fund.

That’s a big title for a fund that will concentrate on young driver scholarships, skills safety training and a facility to study safety improvements and get those improvements wherever they’re needed.

Remember this when you think about all that insanity surrounding FIA boss and Nazi impersonator Max Mosley.  Mosley not only heads the FIA but he’s on the committee that will bankroll these fine programs.  

Representatives from Ferrari and McLaren will be on the committee too along with Michael Schumacher, the great driver who’s an FIA trustee.

Even though a bunch of old white guys caused the original problem, paid the original fine and will be on the original committee to dole it out, maybe something good will come from the resulting cleanup.

And maybe something other than old white guys will benefit.
