This is the Stattmann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

All the greatness of F-1 racing was wiped away Sunday in a orgy of greed and self-serving political posturing and stupidity.  In the coming days we’ll learn what was solved and if the image of Formula One racing was damaged in America immeasurably.

At a time when a great show was so needed, we got old European guys battling to see who could be the reigning Silver Back.  And they all came away looking like apes!

Stepping back, though, it’s what can happen when committees run events involving lots of money.

Nobody won Sunday at the USGP, least of all the fans.  They missed the race and, instead, got a chance to show off the best of American fanaticism by throwing objects at cars going 170+ miles an hour.

And the whole world was watching!!  Talk about apes!  What a weekend at Bernies!!

And F1 czar Bernie Ecclestone didn’t stick around to be counted when his count was most needed.  Truly the whole racing world was or will be watching this fiasco.

The only winners might have been the fans in the nations where the TV networks cutaway to something else, like a wake for F1 as we know it.
